SE Artist Club Blade Comparisons

Kai mild was on deck for this mornings shave. 
So it wasn't as comfortable of a shave but the first pass was more efficient it seemed.  
 I believe my amount of strokes were down significantly on this shave with about the same results in the end though. My difficult spot below my right jawline is a little rougher today.
 Possibly because the blade was not as smooth so I stop short instinctively in that jawline area let's see.

Blade choice for me depends on the razor and the amount of growth. I have found face prep can make or break any razor blade combination.

I have tried most of the Feather line of AC blades (Pro, Pro Super, Pro Guard, and Soft Guard) and many of the Kai blades ( Kai Captain Titan Mild, Kai Captain Titan ProTouch MG,  Kai Captain Sharpblade, and Kai Captain Blade) as well as the Schick ProLine P-30. 

I have used several of these blades in my barber style razors (Kai Captain Standard, Feather SR folding, Feather SR kamisori, CJB GR-100B, and Irving Barber Company shavette) and most of these blades in my safety razors (Against The Tie SE1, Occam's O.R.E.N., Blackland Ti Vector, Razorock Hawk V3, and soon a Mongoose SS).

I would say in general, I found I preferred the Kai blades over the Feather blades as I find them to be smoother blades for my face. Other people love Feather blades, so it is good to get sample blades and see what works for your face for the razors you use.

In the past, tended to favor the Kai Captain Titan Mild blades for the barber razors. For the Ti Vector, I prefer the Kai Captain Titan ProTouch for light growth and the Kai Captain Blade for more efficient shaves. I asked Brad Maggard at Maggard Razors about the future availability of Kai Captain Blades and he had plenty on hand and did not see any issue getting more blades in the future.

I had issues trying to remove a Kai Captain Titan ProTouch MG blade from the Against The Tie SE1 razor head,  so I do not use that blade with that razor head. It seems most razor makers focus on the Feather blades as far as blade fit (and maybe specifically the Feather Pro). The Feather Pro Super is a deeper blade and will not fit well in all razors (for example).

I have a several boxes of Feather Pro blades that came from other used razor purchases, so I am always looking for razors that can use them up and give a smooth shave. I don't find the Feather Pro blades to be smooth, so going with less blade exposure/milder razors/less growth seems to be the key for me. For now, I am using the Occam's O.R.E.N. razor with the two dot cap for one to two days growth to work through them. 

I read a post from Shane (Blackland Razors) stating that the Schick ProLine P-30 blades have slightly narrower hole patterns and can be very inconsistent in their holes (even within the same pack of blades). I have not liked the P-30 in my razors and some of my razors will not load them at all.

Better face prep/varying the lather thickness for different razors and changing out the handles (length wise or weight wise) can also improve your shave.

It's good to hear your experience about AC blades and razors it sounds like you have plenty to share. 
    It's interesting you said something about the varying thicknesses of lather, good to see I'm not the only one that has that thought.
      I definitely do believe days of growth and particular razors is a whole another change up in things. 
   It's always good when guys chip in and shares their thoughts and experiences.

Another shave with the Kai Mild blade this morning in the Vector Ti.
Mild pretty good on the first pass smoother than yesterday. 
I believe I'm starting to see a trend with this blade because by the time I get a shave done my skin has had enough.
  Pretty close shave and still holding out fairly well at 10 1/2 hours past the shave. 
   Let's see how this Kai blade shaves next time.

One day of growth it seemed to feel about like the Titan Mild.
 But just one day of shave I think the Kai Captain is a little more efficient but I'll try to couple more shaves or so.
  I'm starting to Jones for a good smooth efficient DE shave well my nice DE razors are collecting dust.

So after a couple of days break and using a DE razor for those two days I went back to the Kai Captain blade.
 Today shave was pretty smooth and very efficient both.

 I was able to use a few more strokes to get a closer shave because I think my skin was healed up a little more.
I chased the good shave and got one.

I don't believe I can use this blade for multiple days in a row without my skin taking a good hit. After the shave I could feel a touch of over shave but not terrible just my skin had had enough.
 Like maybe 10 or so hours later I'm still pretty smooth, but feel my skin needs to rebuild.

Just switched over to the Kai Captain blade today to see what happens.
One day of growth it seemed to feel about like the Titan Mild.
 But just one day of shave I think the Kai Captain is a little more efficient but I'll try to couple more shaves or so.

I get where you're coming from. I got along well with the Prolines, but like you, I am finding that a guarded blade is better if I am shaving daily with the Vector. In another neighborhood, there is a gent who finds the ProTouch MGs to be the top dog for him. Myself, I like the ProGuards better, but the point is that our faces feel better for the week using a guarded blade. I enjoy the Feather Professionals, but by day 3 it can be too much for me, so I can either switch to another format, or switch the blade. 

I am very glad having the blades has allowed you to find what works best for you!

That's good to know that I'm on a know path. I believe I still have a Proguard blade or two left from tryablade.
  Dan is graciously sending me a couple of blades to try, one is the SoftGuard.

Other close shave with the Kai Captain blade inside the Vector Ti today.
 I'm not sure if it's as close as yesterday in the difficult spot because the skin is taking a hit for the team.
 Let's see what it feels like tomorrow I might have to swap up because I got a little sore spot.
 I broke out the heavy hitter ABC Balm I have because I'm needing some extra skin help
