So I won a PIF of three types of Artisan Club Single Edge Blades, AC blades for short.
These blades happen to be all Kai brand. First thanks goes out to MaineYooper and Marko  for the kind PIF (pay it forward) thank you Eric and Mark.
I had ask Dave in KYs  suggestion about moving my information from the PIF thread to another, so here we are.

So I got these blades from this PIF.

[Image: EwMST2S.jpg]The only AC razor I currently have is the Vector Ti so that's what I'm going to use for a run through all of the AC Blades available.
Went with the Kai Captain Titan Mild Protouch MG today.

I'm assuming these are the mildest of the three blades?
Was a pretty comfortable shave a little tugging on the first part of the shave.
Not the closest I've had with the vector but middle of the road type shave.

I've changed my shaving habits from two or three days to daily shaves.
When I change to daily shaves I started looking for smoother shaves along with very efficient which seems to be a balance of sort with me anyway.
Some of my more efficient razors seem to be sitting a bit more  as I search through daily shavers.

I've had 4 shaves up to this point with the Kai Captain Titan Mild Protouch MG Pink ( Protouch MG).
Actually this blade and razor combo is going better than I expected.
Pretty efficient and comfortable while leaving a little bit in my usual right side below the Jawline.
My right side always grows out quicker  in general.

Hi Keith! Glad you can experiment with these blades. Many folks do like the Protouch MG as their preferred blade. I believe the Captain blades are the Kai equivalent to the Feather Professional or Schick Proline P-30. The Captain Mild blades I think are not as wide, therefore having less exposure? Enjoy!

Glad to see the blades getting some use. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on the other two blades.

Kai makes great blades. I like the Schick Proline P30s a lot - though they may or may not fit in a Vector.

Hey Eric,  so up from the mildest would be Protouch to mild and most aggressive/efficient is the captain, correct?
The Captain and Mild names seem all over these packs, lots of duplication in the names, for me.

You got that right, lots of duplication. And I believe you have the order right, as well. And here is something to make things more confusing, at least for me. There are rumors that both Feather and Kai are related in a business sense, where one owns the other or both owned by the same parent company. I read one guy's opinion that they are even the same blades. But I don't buy that, as the Kai Protouch guards are further apart than the Feather ProGuard spacing. Shane at Blackland Razors, somewhere on his site, explains how you can use these different blade thicknesses and depths (front to back for me is depth) to change the character of the shave in any given AC-style razor! Here is a chart from Feather, and I wish I could find one from Kai, but haven't had any luck.

The width of 50mm stays the same, I believe. But everything else, including the cutouts, can change. It is believed that the new Schick Prolines' cutouts changed, given that many of us found that new packs of Prolines don't fit the posts on the Vector any longer.

I've seen those feather charts before and enjoy looking at them every time because I forget exactly the specs but do remember the basic .
Hopefully Shane Blackland Razors will let us put up his blade chart here, or put it on here himself.
The pack of Schick Prolines I have seem to fit my Vector perfect, wish I remembered where they came from.
I'll probably run through the Kai blades first and then switch over to the other ones and work through them.

[Image: ZFaBMWU.jpg]Shave number five with the Kai Protouch MG today.
The shave went really well and smooth on a 3 pass with additional cleanup. Took quite a bit of passing around to get what I was pleased with and I was chasing a  good shave.
I think these blades are nice I'm hoping to find a blade that doesn't take me as many swipes at it. With all the passing over the face with the blade still no irritation.
I think I'm going to mix the soap up with about three soaps for a while and see how that goes.
Soaps will probably be Grooming Department Mallard, Ethos from the first version and Sterling ( Barbershop) which I really like the scent.
