First shave with my Schick Grip, which is a Schick injector with a grip that looks like a tennis racket grip

Had a bit of a rough start with the Grip.  I started shaving with it and nothing was getting shaved, so I had to compete the maiden voyage with a different razor.  Sad

Turns out the problem was the the blades were loaded into the the injector blade pack upside down, so I was trying to shave with the blunt side of the blade.

Once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing.  The reviews I've read are that injector razors are awesome and I found that to be true.  Also, it has a tiny little head, which I really like, especially shaving around my nose.

An issue with injectors is the cost of the blade.  I got the Supply Co blades, which are $.50 each.  These blades were made by Am Razor, the same company that makes the wonderful GEM blades.  The parent company also owns Schick, so I don't know if these are the same blades.  As mentioned, the blades were loaded upside down.

As best I can tell, Am Razor makes razor blades in a variety of quality levels.  My point being that all of their blades don't match the PTFE Coated SS GEMS we all love.

Pre de Provence 63 and my trusty synthetic brush generated awesome cream.  I followed that with Black Tie aftershave and HC&C balm.

Another great shave in the books.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Thanks for the post. I always enjoy a shave with a Schick.

Though I haven't tried it using the back side of the blade!

can't say that I've ever seen a blade loaded into the dispenser backwards before..or in the razor itself...and I've owned A LOT of injectors!

FWIW Schick Prolines from Rakuten will cost you less than the Supply blades even with small packet shipping from Japan included.
