I'm really only dipping my toe in to the whole scent thing lately - prior to taking up wet shaving the extent of my use of scent was to splash on unscented toner after shaving. These last few years have been both eye opening and mind blowing (nose blowing?) with the incredible array of scents in soaps and aftershaves and now EDT and EDP that are available. I have been missing out all these years I guess. I'm seeing scent as another dimension of enjoyment not just in my shaving but in my life generally. And its really so subjective too, like what Freddy said - he's not a fan of Omnostre but I on the other hand like it. Yes indeed, I am looking forward to whats coming.
Thanks,
Marko
I really appreciate what Shawn is doing, Marko. I’ve got three shelves of “colognes,” which I really don’t use any more. I used them for a couple of years, but lost interest as I discovered aftershaves with longevity (including Chatillon Lux). The first EdT/EdP/EdC I bought in a very long time was about ten days ago—Chatillon Lux Rose Santal EdT. I knew beforehand that the scent would be sublime, as I’ve got both the aftershave and the matching L&L (Declaration) soap, but the EdT raises it to a new level. I placed a single spray on my neck late this morning, and I’m still smelling it. I look forward to Shawn’s blog as I maneuver through the CL fragrances. I enjoy longevity, but sillage is less important to me. Shawn will keep me on track, although I plan to purchase Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli, even if wearing it drives everyone else out of the room...
