Bad Idea with the cheapo ones so I ordered Harrys pack, didn't liked it and my search continued until I saw somewhere the DE shave raving... I was like hey I was DE shaving when I was in the military, so time to save money baby!!!!

3 Years later Undecided

What about the fun we have?
Shaving has always been something boring i did because i had to, until i discovered this.

Shaving is something a guy has to do. Albeit the beard fad the last 5 years made it more acceptable to look like a homeless man in skid row, unkempt and mountain man was hip for a few years. Maybe it was duck dynasty or something. At any rate considering this is a task a guy "has to do" the variety of scents and the fact no shave is really the same with all the offerings out there, it basically for me, took a mundane task that needed to be done and turned it into an enjoyable part of my morning routine and one that while expensive, has proven to be worth the added expenditures. Let's face it, you can buy a lot of Gillette's most expensive cartridges for the price of one of the high end hardware offerings on the market and many of us me included, have multiple such offerings. The "cost saving" argument went out the window five months into wet shaving.... many moons ago.... Smile

I am saving money. You see, instead of collecting $200 razors I could be collecting $5000 watches. Or $50,000 amplifiers and speakers.

Aha! Like your premise.

Sometimes there are small victories along the way. Yesterday I found a buyer for my two Timeless .68 & .95, Charcoal L3, Mergress, Parker Variant, Ti Baby Smooth, 6S and some Ikons. Clearing out unused gear doesn’t save money but at least it recoups a bit of that research. Wink

Nothing beats my late night shave. My family goes to bed, it's all peace and quiet and i have the bathroom for myself.
Is it worth the money - hell yes.
Can it be done cheaper - hell yes.
Do i care - hell no.

I thought I was saving money in the first few weeks, picking up Proraso and one brush. Well over a year later and my cupboard is stuffed full of soaps (mostly Stirling!) and I have 7-8 brushes now, plus around 9 razors. Sooo... fail?
