I just got off the phone with Ashley at PayPal, and while pleasant she basically told me I was screwed. I gave her all the information that several of you provided to me, and PayPal would attempt to protect other rubes in the future. I pity the next telemarketer that contacts me..........
I now received a DENIED claim from PayPal on the dispute that I opened last night. They certainly acted fast to tell me I SOL. When I asked for information on the criminal I was of course denied any information since they must protect his privacy. In advance I humbly ask that no one lecture on PayPal's legal position, just venting.

That really sucks. I'm not surprised at PP's response to resolving anything on the victim's end due to the nature of F&F. The scammer knew what and how to do what he did.
Hopefully, now that they've been alerted to the same individual using PP to commit theft (regardless of FF vs GS) they'll be motivated to follow thru with their intention block him from their platform now and in the future. It doesn't help recover funds obviously, but maybe it'll make it harder for this prick in the future. I'm sure he's doing this in other forums and interest groups, not just the wet shaving community

have you contacted your bank/credit card used to pay for the purchase? also, have you contacted your local authorities?

I have initiated a chargeback through my bank and should know more within a couple of weeks. With PayPal as an intermediary I am uncertain of the outcome. Your advice and support are appreciated.

I would contact your local police too, to see if they can do anything legally. They can contact me if they wish, I'll send you my email address in a PM shortly.
I believe this user might be using several other aliases on the forum, as pointed out from another user he scammed:
56LsyZunRd
sandiegoshaver
cookiemunster

It's worse than I thought. When looking up member "cookiemunster" the search comes back with nothing. The other two names do come up.

Here's a PM from another fellow forum user sent to me on 8/18 pointing out that cookiemunster, aka 56LsyZunRd was probably a scammer:
cookiemunster, the same day I believe, sent me a PM asking that his account be deleted. We don't delete accounts so I just randomized his username, password and email address.
Quote:This guy I'm pretty sure is trying to scam. Just wanted to let you know so you can be on the look out. I don't make a big scene yet but he is sending me pics of razors he claims to have that are not the correct razors and stolen pics from the net.
