I have not tried the dark blue platinum, but my favorite Russian blade is the Gillette rubie platinum plus. These last twice as long as other blades for me and are very smooth.

Perma-Sharp Super. Probably my top blade. The 7 O'Clock Blacks are pretty good too.

I find the Gillette Nacet blades to be most excellent, very sharp and super smooth. I was provided with a tuck of this blade when I purchased my Black Mamba from Italian Barber. I never tried the blades until a few weeks ago and I was blown-away by the performance.

The Blacks are great, but I think they are made in India, not Russia. Still excellent blades, maybe my third favorite Smile

Rapira Platinum Lux are pretty nice - I tried the Rapira swedish steel and they weren't as nice.

Agreed. Super smooth and the longevity is better than most Russian blades that I have tried.

You're probably right. I forgot the blacks are made at a different plant. I stand by my comments on the Perma-Sharps though...
