This ingredient is not appealing to me either. I live in downtown San Francisco, and I've grown tired of smelling people smoking it. It is a scent that I find very skunky.

I've never smelled cannabis oil though, so hopefully it has a different aroma. I know Malin+Goetz has a popular candle with cannabis in it. I'd love to hear the rationale for including it.

Mine just came in today. Smells very herbal and sweet off the dry soap, will have more thoughts after lathering it tonight!

Emperor of Shaving
I just lathered this up. The scent is wonderful! I get a good whiff of rosemary with citrus and sandalwood subdued in the background. I only did a test lather. I get no cannabis scent at all so if anyone was concerned, don't be. It was very slick, creamy and shiny. I have a feeling it will be wonderful during the shave. The scent strength is quite good. Not overpowering, but there.

Do you shave with a straight edge?  If you do you might want to hide them.
Actually you may want to keep all razors and blades locked up for awhile. Big Grin

Figured it wouldn't, as it's just one component. But, anytime you see a note you don't care for, you are going to question if the soap is for you. This one just happens to be a bit more controversial.

I got the same impressions from the dry soap. I did a quick test lather with the residue left on the underside of the lid and got good results. Lathered, the scent reminds me of a sweeter Topanga Fougere, which is a-ok in my book.

As to the consistency, mine was sitting in my mailbox for a few hours and softened up considerably from the heat. Popped it in the fridge for an over an hour and now the consistency is that of a croap.

My 1am shave went well. I used a Shave Revolution Synthetic and loaded fairly wrung out on top of the cream for about 40 seconds. Face lathered and added the water slowly. I was pretty happy with the density and slickness of the lather before the first pass. The lather stayed hydrated and was protective. I shaved first pass against the grain using BBS-1 (fresh Voshkod) and very favorable results. Lather on the second pass was a bit thin so more loading next time, probably up to a minute would be good using the same brush. I am always surprised if I get a shave that only results in about 1 nick. Usually a really good shave can consist of quite a few nicks.

This is seriously the first time I have shaved with a Razorback soap in almost a year and a half. I am not a fan of cream type consistency software but this is the quality of soap I wish Joe was making a couple years back. I will give this and SMdF a few tries over the next month. Post shave was decent and I walk away happy that the first use was a fun and comfortable shave.
