How is the black coating holding up?

Not bad. Slight wear but you'd have to look for it. I have gotten some wear on one of my Weber razors too and that's stainless. I do like to dry razors after a shave.

I know the Baby Smooth is not as fancy as my Wolfman, Blackbird or even the Weber's but, like the Ikon X3, it just gives such an easy, smooth and flawless shave even with heavy growth. The 'mechanical strength' (as Joe says) placed on the blade helps with this. The others are not as smooth. The Wolfman clamps down on the blade but it's too flat for my liking. Although a light razor (which I like) the Aluminum material is really sturdy.

I thought that I would help spread the word by posting this on the Shave Nook, but the thread was deleted. I did not receive any notice or explanation. Talk about communist style censorship!!!

Anyway, get one if you want it. You can't beat the price.

I don't have any aluminum DE razors. I love me some mild and efficient razors though. So, I am happy to give it a whirl.
