However it is proving difficult due to the small number of members able to afford this razor, which is totally understandable. Virtually no buying power here, but Murat from Rocnel has been kind enough so far and is willing to work with us.

Therefor, the titanium plating was an idea thrown into the mix along with custom engraving to make this more special to the forum, without adding to the final group buy cost. I am also working on getting a stand, we will see what happens.

I like the idea of engraving under the topcap as well. "DFS 2017" and then maybe a serial number or "LE Edition #1 of X"
I was informed this titanium B&R would be unique to DFS only. I will have Rocnel do a firm confirmation on that before we move forward. Communication is quite delayed back and forth, sometimes I don't hear back for several days before a response. If anyone has any questions I should ask please feel free to PM me.

If this turns out to be a group buy, can you give us prices for the razor. For example 5 razors = price, 15-20 razors =price and so on.

I'm a little disheartened and disappointed. While awaiting a response from Rocnel I noticed he sold those titanium B&R razors that we noticed on Instagram to another US Vendor.
In my opinion, we should consider a different razor/finish option that will be an exclusive to the DFS community. But, I will leave that up to everyone here. I'm pretty bummed about this guys, I really don't know what the deal is. I just sent off another email requesting an update from them.

Doesn't seem like we're a priority for them. Part of me feels that it may not be worth beating your head on a wall for.

Instead of going for exclusivity, perhaps we should focus on rock bottom price and accoutrements.

I understand your dissapointment, but I did not really care about the coating. It was nice to have but not really much more. The main point for me is the price.
A nice engraving under the paseblate to remember the group buy could do the job for me.

Good idea Frenki and GloryUprising. I will still try to negotiate the best price possible with custom engraving (and stand).

Could have been language issues or mis-understanding, however, guessing B&R has planned the titanium adjustable for a while now with some made and vendors on board.

I believe Seygus (DFS merchant) has a LE razor for a Spanish shave forum now. Rockwell is coming out (hopefully) with adjustable stainless razor July/August. You carry Rockwell razors and perhaps DFS LE with the new production.

I feel bad about all your time and effort with B&R. Nice concept but perhaps more friendly vendors the best path.

Interesting idea with the Rockwell... I can reach out to OG (Other Gareth!) and see if its possible to put together a DFS exclusive, but that would likely be different from this group buy.

Nope miscommunication was not the problem. This is not the first time Rocnel have done it. I remember them organizing group buy for their very first SE razor, lots of people signed up, they finished the production and kept it quiet while they were non stop delivering the razors to other internet outlets.

Their business moto is where the money is, they don't care even if you spoke to him first, he will drop everything and sell it all to others just because they ordered bigger numbers than you did.

I have a feeling this will come back to bite them one day, and FYI if by any chance those coatings turn out to have problems after few months of daily usage you can forget about any warranty considering they are based in Turkey

My two cents is to move on. If you are having this much trouble placing the order imagine the headaches going forward with them. Rockwell or Seygus would be excellent choices.

No claims to marketing expertise. Other vendors selling the B&R razor (including an un-named US vendor) may limit his pricing and discounts. Un-named US vendor would be highly unhappy if DFS offered a similar razor at 15% less. While some of the delays in pricing could have a simple explanation, the delays could also have some business reasons.

A newer shaver and "group buyer", the Shavemac and Thater buys have increased their sales without impacting vendors. I also noticed LE or group buys are organized by a "friend" of the vendor. Think Gareth #1 and Gareth #2. Seygus game DFS some "pass around" razors, group buy friendly, and not carried by the un-named US vendor. From personal experience, prompt and honest response to emails.

I do hope you succeed in getting a great deal(s) for DFS members!!
