I must have more faith than some. I pre-ordered the 6S and backed Rockwell's Kickstarter for their adjustable razor. A big reason for this is how they handled the problems from their 1st Kickstarter campaign. I also read the article written by Gareth explaining the experience and lessons learned from the 1st Kickstarter. Personally, I came away impressed by the follow through to make things right.

I don't blame anyone who doesn't feel comfortable with the pre-order/pre-pay plan. Each to his own. I also pre-ordered with Supply Provision. I've missed out in the past on some things by not getting in on the ground floor, so maybe I'm just afraid to miss out once again. But, it's a calculated risk on my part and I can live with that. We all have choices and that's a good thing. YMMV!

_______________
The fact that they're using Kickstarter again makes me wonder how viable the company is.

I think I saw an article somewhere where Gareth of Rockwell (GarRockwell) mentioned having to dip into his own savings to help get the original 6S razors produced for a 3rd time to satisfy his customers. I imagine the kickstarter is there to help raise capital to fund the new endeavor.

people clearly have faith in the company as it was fully funded, iirc, within the first day.

Don't wonder Aaron, just don't join the KS and all is good

It's amazing to me how much some people are almost willing a company to not exist. Do some research. They tapped their own accounts to finish the 6S so they're starting over again.

Based on the fact that the model T was funded in less than 6 hours along with the fact that it still has 40+ days on Kick Starter, and is more than 200% funded, I'd say the company is plenty viable. That's the kind of viral success that modern investors thrive for (even though they're private).

And you know that how? They showed you their financial books in person? You play golf with their accountant? Rolleyes

It's the Internet and people can & will say anything.

P.S. I need $10 grand to bury a dead cat. I accept Paypal. Please help. Big Grin

Do the math and use common sense. How much did it cost them to produce the 6S, send them off to be refinished, then throw the first whole batch out and start over? Even if the original batch had a margin of 50% it's well more than likely that the production and tooling of MIM molds was highly costly. It's more expensive than investment casting.

Use some common sense and it's not hard to figure out that sending everyone two razors after spending money to try and fix the first wasn't cheap.
