I ended up with a whole pile of these Rockwell blades when I ordered the Rockwell 6S razor.  I thought the blades were reasonably sharp(not "Feather" sharp, but...) and fairly smooth in the 6S.  I don't think I've tried them in any other razors, yet.

Often it seems that if there is a razor of the same brand, the blade will work well in that razor. Maybe that’s the case here, as well. (I’ve read countless times how the AS-D2 shines with a Feather blade in it.)

the feather as-d2 with a feather blade loaded shaves awesome. when I tried a feather blade in my gillette tech, it was rough for me..

I've used Rockwell blades in the 6S, Blackbird and ATT S1. It's an excellent performer in the 6S and the Blackbird, but I found it didn't work as well in the ATT slant. Perhaps it's related to the stiffness of the blade and the slant geometry, but for whatever reason it is noticeably rougher in that razor.

Regardless I have found it to be a great performer in the Blackbird and 6S; easily as good any other blade I've used in those razors.

The Swedes have long been the masters of branding and marketing, and I think the whole concept of Swedish steel is part of such efforts.

What I would like to know is where these blades are actually manufactured. Earlier in the thread, Germany was suggested as a possibility. I just loaded a Rockwell blade into a razor of mine for the first time today, but have not shaved with it yet. The packaging and the blade reminded me of Mühle razor blades, of which I’m not terribly fond. (Incidentally, some people think that the Mühle blades are made by Personna, while others say they are made in Germany — which would make sense to me.)

I’m impressed by the double wrapping of the Rockwell blade, as well as the blade’s rigidity, the crispness of the printing on the blade, and the lack of glue/wax spots. The price is also impressive, so now it just comes down to performance, which of course is paramount. Let the testing begin…

They feel like shaving with a spoon... Thickness/rigidity is great, plus the no glue spots, but the blade are just not sharp enough IMO.

Well, after one use so far, I’m with you. Good analogy, by the way! I’m glad if someone can get a good shave out of these, and I’m going to give it another shot, of course.

But I have to say, not a great first shave with this blade. Lately I’ve been thinking to myself, “maybe the blade doesn’t make that big of a difference”. Clearly, it does. I’ll report back after some further experimentation.

My biggest problem with these blades is I cant even seem to give them away. I had 95 of them for sale on the classifieds, they didnt sell. Gave 5 away to a buyer who wanted to try them. Of the 3 people I interact with that use DEs, none wants any more than the initial 5 pack I give them to try.

I cant give these things away. LITERALLY.
(before I get PMs, the remainder I have arent worth the price of postage for a PIF, LITERALLY)

These are starting to sound like they're worse than Derbys or the dreaded Merkur blades...

I was the buyer. I couldn't even get through one WTG pass. Really thought I had just pulled a dud out but, after reading this thread, I'm pretty certain it's just the blade. What's really odd is that for as much as I love the Rockwell 6S, that's how much I dislike the Rockwell blade. It was at least worth a try and I do appreciate you sending them olschoolsteel ...but I guess there's no point in asking if you'd like the remaining four returned Smile

Exactly! The new kickstarter for the adjustable razor includes 100 blades as a "perk". I've asked them to give it to someone else, so I won't have to deal with another 100 (to my 95 remaining blades...) blades... I can't get myself to throw them away, but nobody wants them even for free!
