Rockwell Blades

I like them quite a bit in a Rockwell, but can't get a particularly close shave out of them in a Wolfman, which has been my razor of choice since I received it. Perhaps a thinner blade simply works better for me when it's being held so rigidly? Whatever the reason, I think I will reserve them for use in a Rockwell razor and an ATT Slant.

I'm going to load half of this on my Rocnel tomorrow.  If it is as rigid, it should work great with the Rocnel.

I passed on these blades the first time I got a pack. It came as a sample from a vendour and I tossed them. I'm pretty picky about giveaway samples since Merkur threw them in with their razors... Anywho I get a second sample pack from a completely different vendour from across the pond within a week of the first sample pack. Clearly fate was at play so I tried them. A great blade in their own right. Would I buy 100, no I am still a blade elitist and I have my brands ( polsilver, Bolzano, and feather). Would I use them if the came with say a "Rockwell Model T," sure.

Second use with the Rockwell blade today and it might have been even more comfortable today than the first use. Could have been my imagination though.

Strange you say that Gareth but in general, regardless of blade, it seems my second shave is always the best of the run. Little bit of face stropping I suppose.

Nope, guys, you're not nuts.  I notice that with many blades; the shaves get better starting with the second shave.  Actually, Kevin, your hypothesis about "face stropping" may not be that far off the mark.  I always palm strop my blades and find that it helps, especially with the early shaves.

Sometimes the expected stropping is like a slap in the face. It does nothing with jarring regularity.

My ancient single edge Valets are a frustrating example. All four of them.

Mickey, I have never managed a comfortable shave with any of my three Valets so I know what you mean.
