However I agree, it does look to be favored more center on the Rockwell.
Sorry! It was done quickly and in somewhat of a rush. To be fair, the remaining distance looks to be the tab of the blade, which is statistically significant in terms of area.
On the other hand, I'd have to try it again, but even that minute difference leaves a significantly less band in the blade. Even though metal stressing tends to be an exponential property, I'm not sure (visually and non scientifically) that it would make a difference.
I'll have to try it again, but that means sacrificing two more blades!
