Has anyone tried the Rockwell blades that come with the Rockwell 6s razor? If so, what do you think?

I have read only good things and went ahead and ordered 200. The price is $9.99 per 100. I would still like to hear your views.

Thanks.
Cheers,
Ted

I didn't love them.

To be fair, I have only used three of them. From one pack only. I thought they were similar to Derby blades. Not bad and nothing to write home about either.

I did buy 100 of them and the stand and blade disposal vault when I got the razor.

I love the razor but I hate the blades. These are the worst razor blades I've used so far (I still have tons of blades to try though).

This is very interesting.  I have just tried the Rockwell blade for the first time in a Red Tip.  I wanted to use a razor that essentially never fails me.  I did not even shower.  My prep was wash/rinse with hand soap, and wash/rinse with a homemade pre-shave concoction of shaving soap and 25% shea butter.   I used a Tabac stick.  In short I got an excellent two pass DFS.  Very smooth, no weepers, and not a drop of aftershave sting.  Possibly the Rockwell is a tad less efficient a cutter than my top tier blades but at $9.99 per 100, they are a steal.

But that was only shave #1 - I will continue to go deeper, but I am quite optimistic they will find a place in my rotation.  Given each individual's difference in prepping, lathering, razor type, beard and skin type, it is not surprising that opinions seems to vary [not in this thread, but in others I have read].  I have not tried Derby in about 10 years - maybe I would like them at this point as well.

Ted

I have found the Rockwell blades to be excellent, and not at all comparable to Derby, at least for me. I find Derbys to be dull and uncomfortable regardless what razor I use, and don't imagine I will ever waste time with them again.

The Rockwell blades works beautifully in my 6S and in my Blackbird, though they don't seem to perform as well with my ATT S1. The ATT works much better with an Astra SP or a Feather; the Rockwell just isn't as smooth in that razor.

In any case, I think the Rockwell is an excellent blade at a very good price.
