Hey guys, just wanted to give some thoughts on these two razors. I owned a 6S for close to a year and was never completely satisfied with it. I loved the different heads, closeness, and overall end results of the SHAVE itself. However, I never could get used to how abrasive the finish was. When I first received the razor I emailed Rockwell customer service right away concerned how rough the finish was. I was assured this was normal and I'm sure it was. The abrasiveness bugged me so much I almost sent it to Delta Echo for a refinish. I could not justify spending as much as I did on the razor on the coating though.

I sold the 6S and bought a 6C and the difference, in my opinion, is night and day. The chrome is so much smother, I believe without a doubt I am getting smother shaves. Yes, it will not last near as long being that is pot metal but for $50 bucks I can purchase another one in a few years if they are still around. I just wanted to give my 2 cents on the two, if you want something to hand down the 6S is your razor. If not, you may just be happy with the C.

that might be the case but me personally choice of materials steered me away from the 6C and Model T that I bailed out a year a go when they decided to change materials. Speaking of the 6S on plate #4 is a surgical instrument that's smooth and only medium blade feel to the face.

Nice to know you enjoy the 6C

6C rocks. I see no evidence that the plating won't outlive me so I couldn't care less it's not stainless.

I own a 6S. If the 6C existed at the time, I would've spent less and purchased that.

I don’t own one yet but I was thinking about buying a 6c and if I end up liking it, I would just buy the 6s cap, polish it and get it replated with chrome or something. Probably not worth the effort but I thought about it.

I think you covered it in the not worth the effort part. If you like the 6C just keep the 6C.

Nice the CF take on the Rockwell 6C.

Perhaps I’m lucky but the MIM finish on my 6S, although far from chrome smooth, doesn’t seem to drag at all. Just for fun I polished the bars on the 5/6 head and see no discernible difference. I did purchase a 6C but it was for a gift so I’ve never got to put them head to head.

I can see how it could be different.

I bought a '46 Aristocrat at a flea market that had the most abused top doors I'd ever seen. I could not imagine what they did to it to get those scratches and deep gouges. Maybe they gave it to a kid to play with in the sandbox. I just could not bear to shave with it.
Eventually I hit it with #600, #900, and #1200 grit wet/dry sandpaper then buffing compound on a cloth wheel, and now it's nice and shiny (bare brass) and comfortable to shave with.
We could be Heroes, just for one day.

My 6C with plate 5 is my most used razor. For me it was the best $50 spent. Smile
