to me, there's a slight difference in scent between the white base and the glissant, but the predominant notes to my nose are smoke, tobacco and leather.

I didn't think you'd like it. Big Grin

I'm glad that the people who do like it, love it. Smile

Definitely on the earthy side but I am on the camp of those that very much enjoy it.

Glad that you were able to check it out first hand andrewjs18 regardless!

Got my shipment of Roam in, and I think I stand by an earlier assessment of some of the more polarising scents: the scent off the puck colours people's assessments a fair bit.

For me, the only thing I could get smelling the soap right off the puck was something very close to cigarette smoke, which I will say was off-putting. That changed very quickly when the soap was lathered, I got a caramel smell with a bit of earth next, then by the second pass of my shave it had settled down quite nicely, very earthy and leathery with the grass/thyme in the background but ahead of the smoke. A truly remarkable blend.

The Kyovu was, as described by some, smokier but it wasn't cigarette smoke, more like a burnt caramel smoke. I'm glad I got 3 bottles. Wish I ordered some of the Tonique to see how it compared, but alas, international shipping...
