A remarkable woman full of grace and dignity. Fourteen U.S. Presidents have been in the Oval Office since her ascension to the throne, the first being Harry Truman. Fifteen Prime Ministers during her reign.

There is a wonderful tribute written in another neighborhood, and I have asked the author if I may post it here.

My sympathy and condolences to our members in the United Kingdom. She will be missed. The Queen has died, long live the King.

I just received permission from Simon (Alum Ladd) to post his "hastily gathered words," as he put it.

This was my first news of this.

There was a brief alert earlier today speaking of 'concerns' for Her Majesty's health and medical supervision being mentioned.

This will have strong and presently unknowable effects on the country.

This is a profound and shaking event. The first time this has happened since 1953. That was when King George VI passed away.

No one here has experienced this, except the very aged now.

The last link to a different time has been severed. I am profoundly shocked and saddened.

She only received the new PM Truss about 48hrs ago. It must have a very sudden decline.

A remarkable, truly remarkable reign of 70 years. She has advised 15 Prime Ministers, the first being Churchill in '53. A dignity and a sense of duty which is almost incomprehensible to many now.

The Queen, Elizabeth II, is dead. Long live King Charles III!

It will seem weird to say "King Charles". I was born two months before Elizabeth's coronation, so I missed out on receiving the commemorative mug like my cousin (and all other Canadian babies born that day) got.

That is an interesting historical note, John Rose. A commemorative mug, how unique!
And thank you for sharing the photo.
