I finally loaded a blade into the konsul yesterday in preparation for a shave with it in a few days. few notes without using the razor...

I like the look of the razor and it looks well built. The knurling on the handle is nice but I'd prefer a longer handle as it's a touch short for my hands. the blade loading though..wow, that was a PITA for me. anyone else?!

had a shave with the konsul yesterday afternoon. I had a bit of growth, probably nearing 2 weeks, so I opened it up to 6 (I think it went half way past 6) to let her eat....The shave went fine, no issues getting my usual 1 pass acceptable shave. I wish the handle was a tad bit longer and as I already mentioned, I hate the blade loading...

I don't think adjustables suit me well and I'm not 100% sold on slants, yet...with only doing 1 pass shaves, a regular DE razor has worked fine for me without the adding bulk and complexity that adjustables razors add to the table.

thanks again for letting us try this out, Razor Emporium!

andrewjs18  there's something satisfying about whackin' several days growth in a  single pass.

I also liked running this razor on its max setting of 6.5. It just felt good to dial the efficiency all the way up and get a really satisfying first pass.

I also want to say that your use case of head shaving would definitely benefit from a longer handle. For face shaving I won't argue that its on the short side by works just fine.

That grip though...
