The REX has all the right combinations and it's a great razor and a must for all DE shavers. It's not as smooth or as efficient on 6 as the 17-4,( the razor I judge all others by ), on the other hand though, it delivers the same BBS shave with less attention which works for me. For me again and YMMV, it's better than all the vintage adjustables including the Gibbs No.17. It's smooth enough and efficient enough at the same time. Where it excels is on the adjustability. I like to start on 6 for the first pass and then go down to 4.5 for the rest which gives me the freedom not to be on the alert all the time, like I have to be with the 17-4. It's my most frequently go to razor and having also backed the T and expecting it, I don't see how it will be better than the REX as the head is bulkier so more difficult in the nose area.
