Setting 4 is the sweet spot for me. With a Nacet blade I'm guaranteed a close and comfortable shave.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered this razor, but after a little over a week of using it, I have to say that I really like it so far. I’ve tried settings 4, 4.5, 5.5, and 6.5. I like 4.5 the best. I’m not sure how much I’ll use the adjustability since I like setting 4.5 so much, but that’s fine with me. This razor is easy to use. I’ve been getting good shaves with it since day 1.

The machine shaves wonderfully and the head does not move as much as the M2 I had ... but nobody sees that the parye of the numbers is not polished like the whole machine? It seems made of 2 parts one bright and one gray matt

The machine is very well constructed and shaves very well ... but it seems to be made of 2 parts ... one bright part and the other part gray matt ..... as aesthetic

I got the same impression. The piece where the dial is engraved has a matte finish. I was expecting the entire razor to be polished as I understand the prior versions were. I may have missed something but this change was not previously announced and in my view has a negative impact in how the razor looks and feels.

So I'd say it's a magnificent and very well built razor but with an unexpected and somewhat frustrating surprise.

That's a good picture with side by side comparison of the razors. It does look like a handsome razor. I am waiting impatiently for mine to arrive.

I like the matte finish on the head and the finish on the handle, but I do wish they were both the same. I don’t have a preference on one or the other, just that they matched. It’s still a good looking razor and a great shaver though.

Razor: Rex Ambassador (4)
Blade: Polsilver SI (3)
Brush: Rick Montalvo mixed
Pre shave: Stirling mentholated
Soap: JoHS Tobacco Bay
Lucky Tiger face tonic
AS: JoHS Tobacco Bay

Shave eleven with the Ambassador. Another great shave.

I have committed myself to thirty consecutive shaves with Rex, trying different settings and various blades along the way.
