Second shave with my REX tonight. Last night was Oneday which is reserved for my OneBlade. Thinking there might be a face off brewing, I used my OB with reckless abandon, applying pressure, rushing my strokes, and making believe I was 10 minutes late for an appointment. This is when my OB preforms he best and I got a very comfortable two pass BBS.

Tonight, after learning the lessons of Saturday, I started my REX with a setting of 4.5 for my first pass and lessened my angle. There was slightly more blade feel, but nothing uncomfortable. This time I DID achieve a one pass DFS! Even my OB from the night before left a little more stubble. Second pass, I lowered to 3, but for my problem areas, I raised it to 4 and then lowered it down again. Love that you can do that with the REX. For all the effort, I ended up with a two pass BBS with no touch up.

Saturday's question was "what am I going to do with my Progress and Variant?" Tonight's question is "how do I make less lather since I don't need it?"

I am having difficulty shaving ATG on my neck (right side, my problem area). I can't seem to find a comfortable angle. I hope with time and practice I get that part figured out with this razor.

Nice to read positive reports from you guys though.

I've had two shave's now with the ambassador and they both have been really nice. I did three passes with both and on settings ranging from 2 to 4. Personally I didn't notice any of the drag that some have mentioned. I'm very happy I decided to participate in the group buy. This is by far the nicest razor I own now.

Thank you again Matt for making this group buy possible!

Wow, no complaints from me. I like everything about this razor. I had mild expectations prior to receiving the Rex and was somewhat annoyed with folks who posted this razor is beyond anything else they own and no other razor in the world is quite like it. However, they are right, it really is an exciting piece of hardware. My favorite feature is the serial number, knowing there are many like it but this one is mine :-)

I used a Gillette Blue with Cold River Soap Works Coconut and Lime on setting #2. No drag, no weepers, no sting from the aftershave. I love the grip, balance, blade feel and most of all the results. The Rex packs a lot of personality and I would not hesitate to suggest this razor to anyone. It is such a comfortable shave. As a reference my DE razor collection includes: Feather ASD2, Wolfman Standard Gap, Above the Tie M1/R1/H1, Vintage Gillette Ranger Tech/Fat Handle Tech (Pre War American, Canadian, England)/Black Beauty/Featherweight, Stahly, Blackland Blackbird, Vintage Shake Sharp, Oristo Stealth, Razorock Baby Smooth, Liberty Village Bullhorn, Edwin Jagger Chatsworth Barley, Muhle Standard head, PAA DOC and I forget the rest.

Shave two was this morning and, once again for me, this razor is a winner.  No drag, perfect balance and angle, easy BBS results, and gorgeous aesthetics.  What more could one ask for?  Speaking for myself, this razor simply does not disappoint.  Well done Razor Emporium (Matt).

One shave in on setting 3. Only two passes until I figure out the angle that works best for me. DFS though.

This has become my setting. Lower for touch up.
I love the construction of the razor, but definitely has a learning curve on the angle.

Wow, that's really something as I had absolutely no learning curve for correct angle.  As soon as I put the razor to my face for the first time, the angle was exactly where it should have been, as if the razor had a mind of its own and just knew where it belonged, relative to the face.  Of course, I suppose so much could come into play that I never think of, i.e. shape of face, what position we start the razor on our faces (north/south, right/left, etc.), perhaps even blade used.

Maybe learning curve isn't the right term. Just different from the 6S head I use most of the time.

I did a 2-pass quick shave today. Setting 4 WTG and setting 6 ATG. Turned into an irritation free DFS shave. I may try setting 6 on both passes tomorrow.

I make sure I go setting 4 ATG on the lower lip area as I am prone to being nicked there.
