Razor Emporium  thank you Matt for answering my questions as if anything had changed on this razor.
I'll be watching to see what you come up with, that's already in the works. People are really digging the titanium razors, as you know I'm sure.

I've found that the best way to use the Rex is on 4 - 5 on the first pass WTG and dialing it down on subsequent passes. By the third pass, ATG, I'm down to setting 2. I get great shaves with no irritation that way.

Since receiving the Rex from Razor Emporium Matt this is the 4th test shave with the Rex and this time I had it on setting 5 for the two passes. Again on 4 days growth. I did a WTG pass on my whole face and neck on the first pass and a  ATG pass on my checks and neck on the 2nd pass except around my mouth and on my chin where I went XTG instead of ATG.  Razor had just a touch more blade feel than the last shave but it was not like it jumped out at me, It took some real focusing to feel the subtle increase in blade feel so we’re still talking a smooth shave. Honestly this Rex has really surprised me in that area since getting it I’m really enjoying the razor!

I ended up with a BBS on my face and only my nasty cowlick on the right side of my neck was left with a DFS result.  Also a note I was not using very aggressive skin stretching as I wanted to keep that consistent to the 3 previous shaves. I’m sure that if I did it would have been an even closer longer lasting BBS. So two thing to try on the next shave before going to the Max setting is to drop in a hand stropped Feather blade instead of the Polsilver I’ve been using and to get more aggressive with my skin stretching. I’m not going to make a prediction but I’m guessing at least a complete level 1  BBS and maybe on some areas I’ll even see a Level 2 BBS.

Eleven lemon essential oil only Shave soap and aftershave provided a nice citrus shave which I followed with sone SV Colonia aftershave as I was not in the mood for cologne today. Long before  I came out with my own Colonia aroma blend I always turned to this SV Colonia aftershave which I always and still do like. Well I doctored it up a while back by adding some of the EOS Complex to it along with a touch of Hyaluronic acid so not does it only smell great but the post shave leaves my skin well hydrated and soft feeling.

Overall an excellent shave experience once again with this Rex.

Also a note. I see over on sone of the FB shaving groups that sone people say a Rex is to aggressive for a beginner/newbie to wet shaving but I’d have to disagree with those statements as I think an adjustable razor is something you can grow with in that you can dial it down while your getting your technique down and yet you can dial it up when you want to challenge yourself and your technique to see if your improving. Just my 2 cents on the subject so I’d have no problem recommending the Rex to anyone who’s just getting into traditional wet shaving and a good razor to add to their den. Of course it’s also a good razor for the seasoned vet who’s looking for a SS adjustable razor.

Great shaves all

With Coupon "2021JULY", it is $200...
It was one of the most expensive razor couple of years ago.
Now $200 or $250 is incredible deal for US made 316L adjustable razor.

I used my Ambassador, which I bought three or four years ago, again this morning. I’ve only used it at the highest setting (6.5?) every time, and every time I enjoy it a great deal, including today. It’s silly to spend the money on the engineering and execution for an adjustable that I don’t adjust, but I still love it. This, and the Mergress, are the only two adjustables left in my den…

SOTD with the Rex Ambassador on setting # 4 going WTG and #3 on the ATG pass. I used a Polsilver blade and I’ve come to the conclusion that to get the best shave out of the Rex, skin stretch, use no pressure and let the razor and blade do all the work  I got a very nice 2 pass shave tonight.

I just returned from vacation with the Ambassador as my travel razor. It treated me to a week of very nice shaves. Generally I do 3 passes at settings 4-3-3. I have nothing negative to report on this razor. Considering you can get one for $200 on sale, I think it's a deal.
