Company: WSP - *Wet Shaving Products

Product: Rustic Shaving Soap – Mahogany
Founder: Lee / Phoenix, AZ

Why Did I Wait So Long?

First a little background from the company profile. Lee is a shaveaholic. He loves everything about shaving. The brush, soap, how the lather feels on your face you name it. Lee's philosophe is that shaving should be an experience so he set out to bring the best quality products to consumers without extra markup.

With all the soaps on the market I found myself missing the opportunity to give Rustic a try. So on the advice of a member from “Wet The Face” I joined a Facebook group called WSP Fan club. After chatting with some members I ordered up all 14 1oz soaps. As soon as the parcel came I reached in and pulled out the first soap “MAHOGANY”.

The 1oz tin is perfect for travel or in my case for testing. Even thou I see no way of locking the lid closed it remains on until your ready to use it. The opening on this is about 1” ¾ I didn’t think I could load the brush from such a small opening but I was wrong.

The scent on Mahogany is nothing short of amazing. They say it was inspired by the expensive Martin de Cadre’s incredible shaving soap a spicy and complex fragrance. Lee accented mahogany with bergamot, vanilla, cedar and allspice. The scent strength is about a 2.5 but when lathering it jumps to a 3.

Loading my brush was a surprise, I expected a hard time due to it’s size but as soon as I touched the brush to the soap it instantly started to lather. No need to load a large amount, this soap is a great performer. I instantly created a rich creamy lather that allowed me to really paint it on thick. During my shave I had plenty of slickness and glide with a great post shave feel. I was so impressed by the shaving soap I ordered the aftershave as well. The soap performs so well one would think it has tallow. Nothing could be further from the truth; this is all-natural vegan soap free of synthetic dyes & preservatives.

Why did I wait so long to try this? I guess it was simply to do with having so many options. So my advise to you is don’t wait any longer.

Great review(s) and thanks for posting. I would have to agree on the Mahogany. I purchased a tin a month or so ago based on another community member suggestion and absolutely love the performance and scent.

Blackbeard is in a similar scent family and is fantastic as well.

I just love all the soaps I have been lucky to test out the Formula T shaving soap. Lee's first Tallow based soap. He will be coming out with around 5 later in the year. Also he is working on Shaving Cream as well. Here is the link to my Video On Formula T https://youtu.be/0j5fVi3zgXY
