You're not the first I've heard speak so highly of Van Yulay, but you definitely did the best job reviewing it. I really need to try it.

Which one do you have?

OK! I found it and used it last night. It is Pétales de Rose shaving soap. It is their vegan formula soap.

The brush used was a RazoRock "Bruce" synthetic. I initially loaded WAY too much soap into the brush. It took a lot of additions of water to get the lather where I wanted it to be. This was my fault and not the fault of the soap. I just ended up with enough lather to shave the whole family. Big Grin This seems to be a very nice performing soap. Plenty of cushion and plenty of slickness.

The scent was really nice. A true rose scent with a hint of green in the background. Just like you are smelling a rose. It is not powdery or perfume like to me. The Van Yulay product page says the soap is made with real rose petals and rose water, so I guess that explains the true rose scent. I followed the shave with Chatillon Lux Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli Toner. And, as I said in my SOTD, my wife thought I smelled very good! And that's always a good thing!

If you like rose shaving soaps(and I do), I think you would like this one.
