With a little care sharp stuff really won't hurt anyone?? Use a piece of cardboard that's stiff enough if that makes you feel happy? A piece of any of the grocery store boxed food stuff. That works fine too? WHat's the big deal? Anything worth doing requires some practice and some minimal care in procedure!!! I'm more worried about cutting meat with a sharp kitchen knife than I am in handling a razor blade?
oldie, for me it isn't the sharpness of the blade; I palm strop my blades so, as you say, using caution is best. However, it is the getting the blade off the paper and then, the way it makes cleaning the razor that much more of a pain. You're right, it's not the end of the world but if some blade manufacturers can eliminate the whole wax thing without a problem then why not all? I guess that is what a lot of us are wondering.
