I got a Maggards email this morning with various discounts but the one that caught my eye was the offer of 30% off all Reef Point Soap products and saying that they were going out of business. I've not seen anything else online about it but if you're a fan of RPS then you better get to Maggards and load up on some product because it looks like they won't be around much longer.

Sad to see another long time brand go down - I've got several of their soaps and I really enjoy them. Dragon's Blood is a favourite. The soap base was always pretty decent but I don't think they've ever improved on it and the current gap between RPS and the current tier one soaps is wider than it used to be. I think another problem for soap makers these days is the fact that shavers have so darn many soaps that a consumable product like shaving soap which would ordinarily last maybe three months of daily use, now gets stretched out to years and theres the re-sale market to consider all of which cuts into sales. And thats without even considering the competition that seems to be increasing an a daily basis. Tough times.

They made my favorite espresso scent. Solid soap no doubt but didn't try to compete or stand out in the saturated market of shaving soaps. I believe the owner is an engineer so hopefully he kept his day job.

Yeah, I saw that too. They were one of the first artisan brands I became aware of... thanks to Nick Shaves on YouTube.
Another one on my list that I never got to. There'll be many, I'm sure for the reasons Marco stated.
