I have 24 razors in rotation. So, I get to use each about once per month. Whenever I get to the Gillette Red Tip, I am blown away; as if I've discovered it for the first time. It is just awesome in smoothness and excellent efficiency. If you think you're having deja vu, you're not...I post this every couple of months. It is not machined stainless steel, but it rocks...and they still don't cost $300.

I agree wholeheartedly! Great razor.

My thought exactly David. Been working on the vintage SE side but no vintage DE razors yet. Red Tip is on the list.

I don't have a big group of razors, but my Red Tip is the favorite. They nailed everything about it. I wish I could put the handle on other razors, because from the knurling to the diameter to the length, it works perfectly for me. The only reason I don't use it every shave is because I feel obligated to use the other junk I've amassed.

I guess I'm missing out. What would you compare it too as far as aggression goes. My favorites are all on the aggressive side.

As far as vintage goes I have a 60's super speed, slim, new short comb, aristacrat, tech, old type, and a handful of modern razors.

I guess I need a Red Tip. the other day, I had my eye on a lot of 3 gillette razors that included a very nice red tip. But then I got distracted and it ended up selling for $18 shipped. Sad

Serious question...what makes the British version "better"?
