gone to Carolina in my mind
I have a few Oleo soaps, and the performance is very impressive. Scent is of course very personal, but the Windy City Barbershop is my fav. Irving Park and El Caballero are fine. As it happens, I just purchased Shiloh a few hours ago. Needless to say, I am very impressed with Oleo. I rate it very close to Wholly Kaw and Declaration Grooming in performance - certainly in the same ballpark.

I have also tried A&E Platinum, which is pitched as an Italian barbershop scent. The scent is fine. At this point, having only one test lather and two shaves worth of experience, I am keeping an open mind about the performance. On the one hand, I have to load the bejesus out of it or it is too thin. On the other hand, it works surprisingly well even when it is thin. I am hedging here because it could be my technique, and I want to be fair to A&E. Nevertheless, whipping up a lather with Oleo (or Wholly Kaw, Declaration Grooming, etc.) is like falling of a log for me, so I would go to Oleo first.

So it looks like i'm going to try Oleo Empire as I'm a big fan of Dior Sauvage and Noble Otter's Lone Star and Noir ET Vanille.
