The stainless steel version while by far the best looking of the stealth incarnations for me, was just too rough on my neck however my aluminium is great all over so I'll be sticking with the aluminium for now. Maybe if it was produced a bit heavier and had the stainless look that would tick all the boxes. I would agree if the head could be a bit slimmer then it would be just about perfect, but I would be being picky for the sake of it.

Reading very different opinions about this razor. Some people love it, while some having a hard time getting it dialed in, especially shaving on the neck seems to be point where people are being splitted.
I've had about 5 shaves with it to this point and I love it. Until you get the hang of it, the neck can be a little tricky and the size of the head takes some adjustment. My last two shaves I've used it on the Maggard MR7 stainless steel handle and defiantly prefer the extra heft when compared to the standard aluminum handle included. All in all I can see it becoming a regular in my rotation.
The absolute best part about the alum. slant and the Standard Razor is the weight and forgiveness of the razor. It kinda flies in the face of conventional wisdom of using the weight of the razor to do the cutting. If you did that with some of the better quality soaps you would glide right over top of the lather and never touch skin!
You can apply the pressure with these razors and come out relatively safe. The alternative is to get the all stainless steel RR slant version which is my go to razor. Very mild, efficient razor with weight to drag across your face. The win win of razors for me.

I have 3 RR Stealths. The V-2 Kiyara, 4-3 stainless (yikes) and the V-4 aluminum. I also have other slants and I love them all. An Ikon/Shavecraft 102, and Ikon original 101 slant, a Merkur 37 and my favorite because of the story behind it, a German Lutz made in the 1930's which I bought from a Lithuanian. It belonged to a German who was killed or captured when the Soviets retook Lithuania and the German either dropped it or threw it. It was wrapped in oil cloth and hidden until last year. I love shaving with them all but most especially the RR Stealth.

Can you feel any appreciable difference in the shave between the aluminium Kiyara and the V4 black aluminium version you have.
