Funny, I ordered this last night and it was shipped this morning.... Amazing how fast people can work again when "the excuse" expired. Unbelievable.

Was prepared to purchase the aluminum version, primarily for the slimness of the head in maneuverability around lips and chin. Saw the introduction of the SS model - I'ld prefer the heft. Contacted ItalianBarber to inquire if SS version retained the slim head dimenions of the aluminum version. Quick but vague reply came back. No help.

Does anyone here know if the SS Lupo head dimensions duplicate the head dimensions of the aluminum version?

Still equally slim profile.

I've used the SS Lupo 58 three times now. It kinda confirms something I've noticed with the other SS ones (including DLC)...
I don't like the scalloped bar!
The beauty of the aluminum Lupo is that I know exactly where the blade is at all times.
But with the SS ones, I feel the scalloped bar instead. It might look a little better to some (YMMV, I don't care either way), but for sure I don't need the sensation of dragging a rake on my face.
Also, the added weight in the SS ones doesn't improve the razor.
I'll give the 58 more time, but I think I know the final conclusion.

Just checking now, there is one review on their website right now:
"I am a little disappointed in the new Lupo 58 SS to say the least. I was actually very excited when it was launched and had to grab it immediately. I have all the Lupo versions; the Al, SS DLC, the new SS 72 and 95, and now the 58. Out of all of them none of them come close to the efficiency and smoothness that the Lupo Aluminum provides though it’s a mild shaver, it is a smooth shaver. I did a side by side comparison and shave with the Aluminum version and the SS 58, and had to clean up with the aluminum multiple times. In my opinion Team IB and RazoRock should bring back the original design and give us in SS version without the DLC coating. That would really satisfy the Aluminum Lupo Lovers."

I agree.

I agree.

I first owned the DLC (still do). Was so impressed with it, I purchased the Lupo 72 right when it came out.
I was pretty disappointed in it and sold it off quickly.
I again purchased the 58 as soon as it dropped.
Disappointed again.
It's really unfortunate they couldn't duplicate the DLC with this new design.
At the same time, I'm glad I own the DLC.

Nero. I agree. I can't shave with open combed razors for the same reason you mentioned - I know where the blade is and I must be too heavy handed - therefore the solid bar gives me a more comfortable shave

Got the RR Lupo .58 a couple of days ago. What a beautiful beast! Did I say Wolf or Lupo? It is so damn close to a WR in feel and efficacy. Really enjoyed it and it may happen to be my main driver the next time.

Until now I was using my HLS Taiga in the Matte Titanium version. Mostly on 2 with Kai blade. Awesome shave for sure! But the Lupo is so fine and slim in profile…beautiful. I love the Taiga especially for its small head…but compared to Lupo…;-)

I'm sure many got the email, but a .95 OC baseplate is now available.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...
Northeast, USA
Lupo .95 & Bic Chrome Platinum. As smooth a shave a man can get. The Dragonsbeard/Ethos V2 soap and splash are just an awesome bonus. Nothing to complain about this evening with the shave results ending in a BBS finish from face to neck in 2.5 passes. Awesome shave.
