I used two second use Perma-Sharp blades, and the results were interesting. The 0.95 SB side of the Lupo baseplate was relatively close to the RS-10 Aggressive plate, but was most definitely not smoother. Neither was it more efficient. It did shave very nicely, though.

The 0.72 OC side also gave a very nice shave. It’s not as smooth as the RS-10 Mild plate, but also gave a very nice shave.

What did surprise me was the lack of blade feel from the Lupo. I was expecting it to have more blade feel that the GC 0.84 and this didn’t prove to be the case.

So in conclusion, for me, the RS-10 provides a better shave than the Lupo DC.

The shave the Lupo provides, though, is very good. It also offers excellent value for money.

Of course, as always, YMMV.

Interesting. Do you know if the Lupo DC aggressive side is identical to the 0.95 Lupo?

I had both and it was the same.

Thanks so much for the comparison review. I’m very interested to read other opinions on the Lupo vs other razors. It’s always interesting to read how different our perceptions can be.

Face shaving with the Lupo .95 vs the RS-10 Aggressive is a much closer battle than when comparing the two razors on my dome.

Last summer/fall while traveling for work, I solely used the RS10 Aggressive for face and dome shaving. While a fantastic razor for the face, the RS10 is very prone to plugging when shaving 5-7 days of growth on my head. This is where the Lupo .95 really shines for me. It took down 6 days growth on my head with no clogging whatsoever, rinsed much more easily, and did so with greater smoothness and efficiency. My blade of choice for all this has been Polsilvers.

This is incredibly useful. I am waffling about getting a Lupo, because I already have an RS10.

Maybe the Yates EH plate when it comes out would be better...

Only time will tell. I think the H is all I want and the EH may be more than I want but I will get one to see for myself when available.

CzechCzar If I had my Yates H plate I’d do a comparison but it’s been too long for me to say for sure. I will say that the Yates is an amazing razor at a fantastic price from a great company that I love to support. I’ll be buying another complete razor from Yates when the EH plate is released and look forward to comparing it to the Lupo.

My best advice is just buy them both, you won’t be disappointed with either.

Gonna try the Lupo .95 on the fatty Ti UFO handle tonight with help from Dragonsbeard and Mozingo Brushworks!

This morning I tested the Razorock lupo SS dc, 0.72 oc on one side and 0.95 sc on the other. = Accessories:
-Wizamet Super Iridium Sheet - Ethos Lavender Soap (also tested for the first time - excellent) - Antica Barbieria Colla Aftershave Lotion “Red Sandal Aftershave Milk” (excellent, but also slightly more expensive).
The beard was two days old (I usually shave every other day, but when I shave I like it very smooth).
As for the direction of the hair, I started with the oc.72 which worked very well. For the opposite direction, I used sb .95 and found it very useful. Eventually, I went out feeling very comfortable. I find the razor more fluid and efficient than the g.c. .84. Compared to my Timeless .95 sb (which is still my favorite), I found it shaved just as easily and effectively. But I have to wait until tomorrow to feel the regrowth and make a more informed decision, and also shave again to see if the skin is disturbed. Now I am very happy to have purchased it and I believe it will surely remain in my possession along with a few others.

I used the .95 this morning for a fantastic 3 pass shave. Using a shallower angle, I see now how Deus Vult makes the comparisons to the RS10. I think there’s a hint more blade feel than the A plate, but the efficiency is great. Unfortunately this is based on memory as I no longer own one.

I think a steeper angle provides a longer lasting shave however. I’ll try and test this out.
