I did the exact same thing haha. Didn’t know they would be offering plates only and did two purchases. Happy that they got my email and refunded me the shipping.

Have you seen the coating first hand?
It's not like a coat of paint.
No idea. I was just thinking since Karve said it was about the same. But then I realize my logic was bad. DLC razor minus the coating shouldn't apply here. He said that the DLC (apparently .61) is about the same as the .72, which just has me confused entirely. In any case, definitely looking forward to the reviews.

Well, you should know by now to take anything that Karve says with a grain of salt.
Seriously, though, I just assumed that the guy at RR figured a tenth of a millimeter is so small of a difference that it qualifies as “basically the same”. (Btw, as someone who owns both a WR2 1.15 and a 1.25, I would disagree with that.)

Ha! Good catch. Karve wouldn't have responded.

The Lupo DC arrived this morning and I took it for a spin. I used a Voskhod on it's 3rd use and some Noble Otter I’m trying to finish. The GD gel really pumped some life into a splash formula that’s just ok (it’s older).
The .72 OC side felt very similar to the original as has been mentioned. While I normally stray away from OC, this one works. I find I have better success with more teeth and many, smaller gaps when it comes to OC.
I originally was going to use the OC for all 3 passes and then try the .95 SB later on... but curiosity got the best of me. I used the .95 for the second and third passes and it really shone! I was worried about how aggressive it might feel, but for me I was impressed with the smoothness. I’ll shave with it some more, but my thoughts during those passes were “why didn’t I just get the .95 SB plate?”
A very very close and comfortable shave, and I’ll see how long it lasts. A real winner for the price!
