RazoRock Lupo - looking for tips on similar razors

What am I looking at? I don’t recognize it as a CG. Or perhaps an older generation.

It wasn't the Lupo lacking effectiveness, it was my pre-shave-method that needed attention. During my experiments I decided to add shaving oil to the routine. I didn't think much of it and reached for the olive oil as a test. Wow.. I did not expect it make such a difference. I think you said at the OP that you'd been at this for around 6 months - you will be refining/modifying your technique and routine for a while before you settle on what works best for you.  And then you'll find something that you hadn't tried before and it will be good and you'll incorporate it.  And so it goes.  I went for years without preshave of any kind and then discovered the Grooming Dept Moisturizing Pre-shave which I really like and now I use it all the time.  At first I was using it before each of the three passes but now I only use it before the second (across the grain) pass because its the toughest pass for me and I figure there's some residue left for pass three.  Pass one is the easiest so I don't need it - I figure I've tripled the life of my product 

If you ever want to try a different razor, give the Rockwell 6s a try.  Its a little heavier than the Lupo but with 6 "settings" on 3 baseplates it gives you a wide range from mild to aggressive.

It‘s very interesting. I was reading this thread and thinking the whole time that after just 6 months of wet shaving, the problem is probably the quality of lather and prep rather than the razor.
For me, in terms of prep, my Aha moment came when I started washing my beard with soap in the shower before shaving. That helps to soften the whiskers. Your method adds more glide and protection for the skin. If it works for you then great.
Once you have your prep and lather down, it‘s probably possible to shave with anything. Asking for tips on razor choice can get you any number of different suggestions. I‘ll give you my take anyway
If you want to try something high-end again and, considering you are in Europe, the Tatara offerings are certainly worth a try. More precisely: Nodachi top cap, Masamune baseplate, Masamune handle.
That won‘t be incredibly expensive and will save you the trouble (long wait & customs) involved with purchasing from the US or Canada.
