It was a bit tricky comparing the 3 all during one shave, but I did my best to keep it a fair test and continuously swap between them during a 4-pass shave with touch-ups.

Each razor had a brand new Astra Stainless blade and I used Wolfman handles for each that were very similar in shape and weight.

My findings:

- As expected, the Lupo .72 was the least aggressive with almost no blade feel. It was also the smoothest of the 3.

- The Wolfman had the most blade feel. Aggressiveness was right in the middle of the 3. Polish and machining were obviously better the the Lupos.

- The Lupo .95 was the most aggressive and I could instantly tell it had a larger gap.

- All 3 provided excellent results. While the Lupo might not be a dead-on "clone", it did seriously capture the Wolfman WR1 experience (even more than I expected it to).

- The clear winner for me was the Lupo .72 since it was the incredibly smooth and also perfectly efficient.

FWIW, I like moderately aggressive razors (Timeless. 95, Rockwell 6S plate 5, Blackbird Dart and Blackbird, Yates H-plate).

Question for you ... How would you compare the Lupo 72 to the game changer 84?

It's been a while since I owned the GC84. It was a good razor, but the Lupo 72 is a GREAT razor... I remember the GC84 would occasionally give me some rough shaves. The Lupo 72 gives me perfect shaves every time. I highly recommend it.
Yeah, I definitely have had those shaves with the 84. It's almost always a good close shave, though. That's why I keep it around, though I use the Henson Medium most of the time.

Do you think you are getting as close a shave from the Lupo 74, or is that added bit of gap a "game changer" (haha).

Honestly, I really don't need another razor and I get myself in trouble following this line of thinking. Lol.

Hard to say on the gap, but like I mentioned, I usually like aggressive razors... so I was actually surprised I liked the .72 Lupo the most. For me, it’s the perfect balance of smoothness and efficiency.

Darn it, now I need another razor! Lol.

Thanks Paul. I appreciate the info.

Thanks to this thread, I’m no longer considering a Game Changer. I am however, considering a Lupo .95 baseplate to go with my Lupo .72.

You’ll never know till you try it out for yourself. I’m cleaning up my WR1 .80 to sell. I enjoy the shaves from the gamechanger 84 more. That being said, the lupos are great as well.

Whisker_whacker did you ever try the DLC Lupo 0.61? they greyish or black finished one? That was the best Lupo for my face and second place goes to the aluminum one. The 0.72 and 0.95 weren't as nice on my skin.

zaclikestoshave i just recently re-purchased the DLC Lupo. Had it before and loved it. Then somehow fell out of love with it chasing aggressive razors. It’s amazing! I’ve come back to mild instead of wild latley and have been getting the most consistent daily BBS shaves with it. Shaved with the Lupo .95 today vs the GC .84 and I think I like the GC more. I need to get the new Lupo .58 plate as they say that’s the gap on the DLC and aluminum Lupo.

The Timeless Ti 95 is my daily driver and I’m considering a Lupo.  Looking for something a little more efficient than the Ti 95 without losing the smoothness.  Would you be able to compare the Lupo 72 and 95 to the Ti 95?  Thank u
