i think i see whats changed. if you look at the photo of the hulk hawk, the lather channels on the guard bar have been modified. it looks like the supporting bars within the channels have been widened which actually makes sense considering that aluminum isn't as strong as steel. i dropped my aluminum hawk once and bent the guard bar because the v2 narrower supporting bars.

I presume the SS Hawk was put on a back burner since it’s been a year and no updates. I guess it won’t be coming after all.

Joe commented on twitter earlier this month that they are working on the the new SS hawk. I have it in DLC and Satin. They are at the top of my list for easy of use and great shave with Schick Proline or Kai Pinks. I'm primarily and SE shaver to the point that 95% of my shaves are SE and if I could keep only 1 razor, this would be it.

I have owned every AC SE available and currently I have the Hawk SS, Mongoose II stainless, Paradigm TI, Vector polished, and RX. I didn't bother keeping the AT SE or original Mongoose because they were too big and heavy. The King Cobra was nice, but the QC on the razor was terrible. I sold off the 3 Generals as well, the brass one was way too heavy.

That's good to hear. Keeping my fingers crossed. My RR Hawk V2 shimmed is amongst my top 3 SE razors.

Could you please explain to me how to shim the v2. Thank you.

Just take a used SE blade and grind or sand down the cutting edge as to make the blade narrower than the original. Be careful not to cut yourself. Once done place the narrower blade first and add the original SE blade on top. That way you shim or widen the gap of your razor. You could also cut out a profile from a hard thin plastic but then you'll have to make sure to drill the exact same opening so it will fit on your razor. I've made shims for both SE and DE and it works flawless. As long as you are careful handling those sharp cutting objects.
