It appears that the second and third batch of these were just a satin silver finish on the SS. It's too bad because I really like the DLC matt grey finish on the one that I got from the first batch.

Yeah, I didn't know that either. I got the matte bronze hawk and ordered the next batch for my buddy who loved the shave, and it was surprised by the clear coat

Was there any difference in the "feel" of the satin silver SS Hawk?

I don't see a satin silver or matte bronze hawk on the website. How were they sold?

There was a product page for them, but I guess Joe took it down. There were 3 small batches, the first was DLC and the other 2 were satin silver. I don't think that there are going to be any more in the near future. It looks like Joe has lots of projects on the go and the Black Mamba might be the next release.

Tonight's shave with a Hawk was really nice. Reminded me of using a cart because of the weight. Three easy light passes gave me a great shave. I think I might like it more than the ATT Se-1, quite a surprise. Also a great value. Recommended for anyone who likes a light weight shaver.

I finally used my hawk for the first time tonight. I think it's a touch more aggressive than the general and it appears to have more blade exposure as well. I'll guess I'll see how my skin reacts within the next 1-2 days!

I really like the how close the hawk and the general get me, but sad to say, with the general, I usually have a decent amount of irritation a day after the shave...

I found the Hawk quite a bit more aggressive than the General. Used the Feather Pro in the former, the Feather Super in the later. I ultimately decided the wide blade didn't work well for my head shave. Good luck.

did you end up moving on from all types of razors that use the AC blades?
