Razorock German 37 Slant initial thoughts

I agree that the 3-piece shortscrew is something is sorely missing from Merkurs offering. However, Merkur excluding there are now almost 6 razors with this Merkurhead: your 37, the SR71, the two models now availale at manly stuff, and the ones Stirling is coming up with. Even though your offering and the THB SR71 actually add something to the line that wasn't there, and I applaud your effort in bringing a really cheap slant to the market, eight times the same head doesn't really bring something different. Yes, I know that sounds contradictory :-)
You did a great thing with reviving the bakelite slant that became known as Italian Barber with your Stealth series., and made a perfect razor with the Wunderbar. Adapting those for a budget series, or reviving another unavailable vintage model really would have had me cheering, instead of going: nice.

The Wunderbar can not be made inexpensively, in fact, the price will most likely go up because the current price is too low for how much it costs and how much time needs to be put into the project. If you saw the machining work involved in the Wunderbar, you would be shocked.

I checked manly stuff and i believe it's still a 2 piece design and its £50 (about $65) for something you can get from Merkur for $40.

I don't think anybody yet is making a short screw version adaptable to any standard handle. The fact you can try a great slant for under 12 bucks makes it super accessible.

The three-piece design of the RR37 is precisely why I bought it instead of the Merkur. I like being able to swap handles if I want to. This is my third slant, my least expensive slant, and my best-shaving slant. If I had gotten it in the first place, I probably wouldn't have even considered the other two. The RR37's only flaw is a small one - blade alignment can be a wee bit sloppy. However, since blade tabs are exposed on this razor, it's easy to tweak the alignment.

I have been using this razor exclusively for the past 2 weeks or so. Great razor.

This is absolutely true, and is actually a good thing.
