Perhaps a dumb question but do we know if the change to the bottom of the baseplate would even affect the shave?

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably buy one even if it’s just aesthetics, haha.

I'm guessing the change was to reduce machine retooling time. Of course it could have been astetic. I'm also thinking it will change the balance point also, seeing as the head will be lighter.

I think the sale was open for a few hours for countries who miss out on the USA and Canada time zone sale.

The new design is on his Instagram and Facebook page and images would be update for the USA time zone sale in a day or two. That is my interpretation from the tweets and the product page.

They are not sold out, I think Joe posted a tweet last night regarding having a small batch release for I guess international buyers to get a better chance to get one. I purchased one with the HD handle since I missed out on the first release because the barber pole handle sold out really fast. I'm sort of glad it happened this way because I like the look of the HD handle more or the super grip one and I also like the way the new base plate look now. I guess its better I missed out on the first batch and when I think about it I also missed out on the 1st batch of the Ti BBS that had the head matte finish and the handle tumbled finish, the 2nd batch both were matte and the match was spot on. Joe will release the rest of the GC in a day or two, all are not sold only small number last night.

I think sometimes is better waiting for the 2nd run, live and learn
