I was reading patents on blade coatings and saw where Bic patented a new graphene coating for blades. In researching it I stumbled across another revolutionary new metal coating that is more than twice as slick as PTFE (Teflon) and is the world’s third hardest material, next to diamond and cubic boron nitride. Plus it conducts electricity!!  Confused  It's called aluminum magnesium boride or BAM for short. I then saw that Gillette has patented a process (June 2018) to utilize this in blade manufacture. Hell, you'll probably be able to shave with sand as a lather with this blade!! Now whether this will trickle down to DE blades no one but Gillette knows. Regardless, this is BIG news!! Easily the biggest step forward since stainless & Teflon.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I'll be watching. But I'll also remember the last crappy ride Gillette took me on with the "evolution" of carts. If they'd stayed with Trac II I'd have never left.

Yup^  The Wilkinson Twin Blade is in the Dopp kit for travel.  Won't take a chance on NSA freaking out over a beloved DE with a blade.  But regs say you can have 4" scissors, really?

And they give me a GLASS rocks glass for my juice.  ( no way to make that sharp!?).  A while back they took a 6 inch crescent wrench from me because it was verboten.  I asked if they have ever had anyone take over a plane by threatening to loosen several tiny nuts.  I got a scowl.  Last week I had a forgotten utility knife in my kit and the TSA dude told me he would have to confiscate it.  I asked he let me see the knife.  I released the blade, handed it to him, and put the knife in my pocket.
