Raw Shaving - New Razor Co

I feel the higher end razors like the Wolfman, Blackland, Timeless, Charcoal let me enjoy the shaving process a good bit more, as does the nicer brushes and in the end that’s worth it for me. Whether you can get the same end results of a shave with cheaper razors is besides the point to me, the nicer razors make the whole shaving process just more enjoyable and I love how they look on the counter top. More to it for me than just the shave.

Blackland Razors

Didn't they merely rip off your design and slap their logo on this? Is your razor design patented. No creativity here. This is a blatant rip off as my eyes see it.

I get the 'love how they look on the counter top part'. And that's totally fine.

The same reasoning why wearing a Rolex is more enjoyable than wearing a Timex... it’s finer made, nicer design (although design personal opinion) I much perfer handling a Wolfman, Timeless ect over a pot metal China made 34C.

These “Why are expensive razors worth it?” discussions are as frequent as they are pointless. Some men love to use high end razors and find they deliver better, more enjoyable shaves. And some men don’t see the value when more affordable razors work well, too. Both are fine and neither should be shamed. Find the products that pique your interest, fit your budget, and give you the best shave. If that’s a $5 Weishi then congratulations. And if it’s a $1000 EBay BBS-1, congratulations as well. What’s overrated and overpriced to one person is an heirloom piece to another. Neither person is incorrect so let’s just let it go and bond over our shared enjoyment of wet shaving.

I like the Timex watch a heck of a lot more than any Rolex watch. At least with the Timex "Indigo" I can see what time it is in the dark? A watch is for telling time I think. If it's jewelry you're after, for whatever reason, get a Gold doodad!! I have several of the "new" expensive stainless steel and brass razors and they do not shave any better than an old Gillette. do I like them? Some, but not better than my favorite TTO Diplomat! They are razors after all. For shaving, I think? And as with Mercedes cars, to each their own. Ever try and get a Mercedes fixed in Maine? I have and it took a week, a car rental and 2 repair shops. All to end up at dealership 100 miles away that took a week to get parts and the experience generally made me realize I wish I had a Chevrolet, which is the car I rented! Like with razors, To each their own!!! People are wacky when it comes to showing off! Give me a nice big comfortable easy to fix anything over strutting-show and tell---any day!!!

Shane’s comments are on point. This thread has only made me respect Blackland more.

I can never understand why companies that have the skillset to be original copy contemporary designs.

I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere as well and I agree that the German car companies have fooled people into thinking German cars are reliable. That being said, a stainless steel Rolex sport model(submariner, explorer, explorer II, GMT II, seadweller, and daytonas) will hold their value and frequently sell for more than their retail price based on their condition.
