raw black soap from Ghana

My neighbors are from Ghana and will give us some products from time to time.  A week or two ago, they gave me about 2-3 pounds of raw black soap from Ghana.  I can't complain about that!  right now I use a liquid version of black soap to wash my hair, face and beard.

when I sent a photo to my wife after my neighbor gave it to me, she thought it was meatloaf.  admittingly, I do agree that it looks like meatloaf as well.  

I'll give it a sniff test tonight and take a few photos to give you my impressions on it.  I haven't used it yet to have any feedback on it's performance at this point.

I have been using liquid African black soap from Alaffia for the past year or so on my hair and it's worked quite well.  if I'm not careful about the product I use on my hair, I can get pretty bad dandruff.  on my face, the black soap can be somewhat drying at times, so just keep that in mind if your face starts to feel more dry after using it.  I think this is the exact soap I use: http://www.alaffia.com/store/pc/Authenti...39p208.htm

if you have a local whole foods, you should be able to find it there as well.

I tried the meatloaf-y kind, but prefer the Dudu Osun black soap. Five bars for $13 from Amazon Prime.

It is nice to read this post from andrewjs. As mentioned earlier from my introduction post on this forum, I have been doing a bit of research on the African black soap and its effect on skin; at the same time, how effective can it clear razor/ shaving bumps. Also, how good is it on the hair.

Here is my discovery.

I have been using the soap for over a year now with no side effect. In addition, I use it regularly to wash after shaving. Before I was introduced to the black soap, I had a bit of dandruff in my hair and my neighbor from Nigeria just suggested I tried it; which I did. I can clearly say to you that the African black soap cleared my dandruff, and at the same time, I am free from razor bumps.

As you may know, we all have different skin type, if you try it and started getting a kind of reaction (like dry skin), kindly mix it with raw honey and the it will give you an added moisturizer.
