Don't see the need to alter the Gem blade for the One Blade razor? I also don't see the blade smile everyone is talking about in the blade. Careful insertion and no "click" required. The only thing IMHO I think is required is to palm strop the desplined blade before 1st use. Doing this for me equals the closeness and comfort/smoothness of the Feather blade shave. I have not been able to obtain a closer shave or a longer lasting shave. When I am spot on I can go 2 days. But this is not an everyday experience?

SharpSpine, I ended up ordering from Connaught. 200 PTFEs coming my way for $34.84 shipped. They have the best price by far. Most other places were just under $30 for only 100 blades. What amazes me is that the shipping is only $4.10 from the UK! Thanks again for the advice.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a PTFE? Is that the normal blade for the OneBlade?
Incidentally, I just received my OneBlade in the mail. I'm tempted to offer my impressions, but might want to wait for a full and detailed review (like with the Zenith brushes).

These are the Teflon coated GEM blades. Some folks find the de-spined GEM blades works as well for them or better than the Feather HS blades the OneBlade is supposed to use. I haven't tried the GEM blades yet, as I managed to get 240 of the Feathers from Connaught before they stopped shipping them outside the UK.

Yeah, what KellyS said. You can also get carbon steel and uncoated stainless steel GEM blades. I think most people (myself included) find that the PTFE coated ones provide the best/smoothest shave.

Awesome wyze0ne!. That was my experience as well. Enjoy many hundreds if not a thousand great shaves from that $35. Money definitely well spent.

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is Teflon. Many times you will just see that GEM blade listed as "Coated" and I believe that is the Teflon coating that they are referring to. You can also get uncoated GEM SS blades as well as carbon ones. I've tried them all and only find the PTFE version to be worth my time and face.
