I'm using them twice. I bought them in bulk from Connaught.

Same for me. Time from order-to-doorstep was around 2 weeks for me from Connaught.
If be interested to hear how many shave the guys are getting with the de-spined GEMs. Like a lot of people, my livelihood is based in my hands and therefore there's no way I'm going to attempt to de-spine a blade though!

For me I can get 7 from a Feather but I'm not a fan. If I use a Feather I limit it to 3 shaves now. Best place to get them in bulk without some special sale is Connaught Shaving. Even with shipping their prices beat everyone else from what I can find.

The GEM blades are much better for me. I've gotten 18 shaves from one in the OneBlade before I ruined it trying to clip it. I'm confident that I can get 20+ from GEM blades on a consistent basis.

Regarding protecting your hands and not de-spining a blade allow me this. I use my hands for work (chiropractor) & have no qualms with using a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the spine. I even leave the brown cardboard sleeve on the blade while I do the operation. It literally takes 3 seconds to remove the spine. In under a minute you could have enough blades ready for use to last you months.

I went to check the prices on Connaught today and they had a message saying that they don't ship Feather products out of the U.K.

Is this new or merely an invalid message?

Here is the link: http://connaughtshaving.com/fhs10.html

The message reads, "please note that Feather items are only available to UK customers."

I just noticed that today, as well. (I was looking at Feather Artist Club Professional and the like — same statement there.) Since that statement isn’t on the page with Gem blades, it would seem that the restriction might be something imposed by the manufacturer, or the result of some agreement.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

This is getting ridiculous lol. The blades are already hard enough to find since only one type fits, but there really needs to be more retailers carrying them.

I've been planning on ordering the OneBlade when ATT releases their own single edge (for a side by side comparison), but I positively refuse to use the subscription service or to order from Bullgoose.

Anyone know a good source for these blades other than the above, preferably an overseas retailer that ships to the US?

Whoa, I guess OneBlade complained to Feather. I remember at the beginning that OneBlade was supposedly the only North American distributor. If that is true then that would be why Connaught cannot ship them over here anymore. I've thought for awhile now that our USA vendors with these blades are buying them from OneBlade before reselling them to us.

Guess it's more reason to try the GEM blade. $35 for 200 shipped from Connaught. A very conservative 10 shave minimum per blade and I'm down to a 18¢ blade costing less than 2¢ per shave. Feathers in bulk and not on sale will cost almost 54¢ per blade and only come down to about 18¢ per shave at most for the majority of people. It still isn't going to break any piggy banks for those of us spending $300 on a razor. However, I definitely prefer being able to get my blades from wherever I choose

I placed an order for these blades with Connaught as soon as I determined the OneBlade was a keeper. I got a shipping confirmation, so it looks like my order got out before the embargo, though they haven't arrived yet. Regardless, that's upsetting; I really don't like the idea of a single source for blades. I hadn't planned on going the GEM route, but will look into it if there aren't more options when I need to restock.
