I recently purchased a OneBlade Razor. I'm in love with it. Very glad I took the plunge. I see the they recommend using a new blade every shave. I imagine that is to sell more blades....How many shaves have you guys been getting from the blades that came with it? Are there any other places I can buy these blades?

A bunch of reputable vendors sell the blade.

The model is: feather fhs-10 (the 10 is a ten pack, which is current production. There is an older 5 pack listed as 'fhs-5'. the blades are the same).

I'm of the habit of tossing blades out at the 4th shave. I think the blade can last longer, however.

I would highly recommend reading the thread “SharpSpine's OneBlade Journal”. First of all, SharpSpine gets incredible mileage with a blade, and also you will learn about some other blade options that were never really intended for the OneBlade, but nevertheless seem to work quite well.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

I only recently got my OneBlade, so am still experimenting with blade longevity. This morning was the first time I've tried a 3rd use with a Feather, and while I still got an amazing shave, the blade did seem a bit harsher than the first two uses. That said, I did have a bit more stubble to deal with today, so that could account for it. I'll try a 4th use tomorrow and see how that feels, but I don't see myself pushing it beyond that.

Buy them in bulk at Bullgoose. Catch them when they have sale (e.g., 10% or 15% off) or wait until Black Friday Sale. Comes out to around 46 cents/blade.

The blades, for me, DO go dull. The advertising is right. For 46 cents each after spending $300, what are trying to save? Just my opinion. I would not go beyond two.

Not really trying to use the blades more than once to save money. My thinking is that maybe the second or third time using the same blade might be better than the first. I notice that when I use the Astra blades in my Feather ASD2....the second shave is the best. Typically I will change a blade after three shaves. Just curious if these will perform the same. And if using a new blade is the way to go for me....I will. I doubt I will use the Gem blades. It's only been my first shave, but I'm happy with the blades that OneBlade recommends.

Any of you guys ever cork your blades? I heard that running the blade through a cork will take out any burrs. Is that a bunch of nonsense?

I tried it and didn't notice any difference.

I only use those blades once and adios!

I typically find the second shave the smoothest as well.

As to the OneBlade, the max I have gotten out of a Feather blade is 7 shaves and it was pushing it toward the end. Still a decent shave with no major tugging but at the absolute limit.

I do shave daily and most often during the week limit a shave to max 3 passes as well.
