PSA: Wald Shaving Drop

I used my Nimbus 2000, er, Wald Nimbus A1, this morning for an almost decadent lathering experience! I am getting closer to getting the amount of water needed in the brush before loading figured out and had a great lather and better splay.

One dude trying to meet global demand for a unique product. I, for one, am grateful that Wald now has an option to order "in stock" items like Calyx and Delphi. I ordered a Calyx in January, received it in a reasonable time, and immensely enjoy the unique Wald knot experience. The Calyx handle is very comfortable in my hand, and the knot is indeed unique. I couldn't be happier to order at my convenience.

With patience, after a few years in the hobby, I have the good fortune to own a Calyx, a Paladin, and a Rudy Vey. I am happy to support such excellent artisans. Being a guy trying to hold together a family and work obligations, I would feel like a jerk if I demanded unrealistic expectations on solo practitioners in a niche market.

I ordered the Calyx when it was 1st released and it has become one of my top brushes that I use in my rotation. I love the handle and wish Jannick would make it in more colors, I think that is coming soon, and I'd also like it with the 29mm knot in it also... As to the colors though, I sure hope they aren't the same as the Delphi's color's so far. I'd like them to be a little more vibrant.

I used my Nimbus 2000, er, Wald Nimbus A1, this morning for an almost decadent lathering experience! I am getting closer to getting the amount of water needed in the brush before loading figured out and had a great lather and better splay.

Decadent and luxurious sound right to me, and that is even though I, too, am still dialing in my A1 technique.  So far, what seems best for me is a gentle hand and a long load, wetting the puck occasionally if needed.  Then follow the load with plenty of water.  My first two A1 shaves began with less than optimally wet lather, and in one case, with insufficient soap on the brush.  I do love the A1 experience, but for me, it requires a different mindset from the dense badgers I am used to.  That said, the A1 is the closest thing to brush bliss that I have yet to encounter.  

I can't believe how different this knot performs from my STF XL... I may have to spend a solid month with it now!!

There was a drop yesterday I think.

If you mean Central, eastern is an hour ahead. That would be 10pm EST.
