My Falstaff briar showed up today. It's absolutely beautiful. Now I want a purple haze and lemon drop.

Congrats. I'm still waiting on mine as USPS hasn't turned it loose. I absolutely loathe the postal office sometimes. Good to see someone got theirs and is enjoying it. That Briar has a fantastic quality to it and it's high on my list now after seeing yours. What an amazing color.

The Tequila Sunrise handle in the photo above was turned from German Ebonite. We're not offering Ebonite-handled brushes for sale yet. We might need to make a trip to Germany first. The brush was acquired in the B&B Sue Moore Memorial Charity Auction to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Our donations this year accounted for almost $2,400 in auction proceeds, or about 15% of the total raised.


Another Ebonite handle in what we've dubbed the Wicked pattern is shown in the photos below. The first two are of the handle exactly as it came off the lathe. The bottom two were shot after light sanding. Ebonite is much more challenging, expensive, and time-consuming to work with. We can only make them in very small quantities. So brushes with Ebonite handles will be priced substantially higher than those with handles turned from polyester rod.

Wow. The tooling marks pre-polish are pretty nice too. Gives it another dynamic. How does it feel?

Ebonite is something special. Once it's more readily available I think I will upgrade as many brushes as I can.

The stuff is fantastic in hand. When I first picked it up it was a wow moment. Similar to how I felt with my first resin stabilized wood.... Even more amazing than when I got my first real horn brush (which I have sense sold off).

Re razor - yes a shave Smith. How did you know without the traditional markings? (I'm still learning) the razor was a custom job for a store I stumbled upon during a visit to Montréal.
