Production moved to India. Now what?

I am fairly new to safety razor shaving and know for sure I will never go back to cartridges.

I shave 3 times per week and use one blade weekly. Needless to say, going through a starter pack takes some time for me. With that said, I'd like to know what more experienced shavers plan to do when it comes to the blades no longer made in Russia.

If those blades are part of your rotation, do you plan to get samples from the newly produced blades in India?

I'm sure others will be a long with their thoughts. My Wizamets are my favorite and have enough of them so I'm good. Best wishes

Gillette’s 7 o‘ clock black is produced in India. A highly rated blade.

Gillette Nacet are now also being produced in India and I‘ll definitely try one at some point.

Euromax Platinum - 2019 Made in India,

These are biggest part of my stock. I think I have enough Russian blades for the next few years

But I am sure that when Russian blades switched to India, they would be good quality again, because I love Euromax Platinum blades and they're good made.

I'm in agreement here. While the production may move to India, it's still a Gillette blade. They're still putting their name on it, so you can have some level of confidence that they'll try to adhere to the same quality.

My go-to blades currently are Personna Comfort coated. They're "made in the USA", which is to say Mexico (from the rumors I've read). I can't say I haven't had SOME bad blades, but in general, they're really good quality. Personna is a big name in blades, they have a reputation, and apparently strive to live up to it.

At least that's how I'm seeing it.

Agree with you Sir .Blade is a machine manufactured item and Gillette is a reputed brand which would not outsource it to some small time factory in an industrial area in some remote location to do this job.

They have the money and resources to manufacture a blade as sharp as a Russian or an American blade .

We will have to watch and see how it turns out because as per me it's not about the country but the brand itself. Gillette has more to lose if they dish out some shitty blade as they won't be able to pin in on a country for their lack of Quality controls .
