I'm unable to do much heavy exercise with my upper body because I have post-polio syndrome, which causes progressive loss of muscle mass and strength and is accelerated by anything except very light exercise. But I walk on a treadmill 6 days a week, walking about 3.5 miles each day. Each day I have to overcome my natural lethargy and laziness, but once I'm walking on the machine it feels good, and I'm always glad afterwards that I've done it.

I don't have an automobile so I walk a lot.

And I ride a one speed bike. It's a Huffy.

But I do get people to give me rides in their autos.

My father suffers from the same thing. Amazing how something that you had when you were in your early years could come back to get you again in your seventies and eightites.

I am all over the map but active- cycling, running, hiking, swimming, sport climbing, etc. Work has me getting less activity than I'd like recently but that is a short term issue, not long term. My wife pointed out that I am risking becoming a skinny fatman and need to work less, play more which I fully support. Smile

Yes, the interaction of viruses and the immune system is very strange.

Love backpacking when I can. I ride my bike to work when I can and now that the bike trail isn't covered in snow I will be doing that more.

With my son's baseball season in full bore right now - it doesn't leave a lot of free time on the weekends.

For the past few months I haven't been as active as in the past... torn cartilage in the right knee and I DON'T want it to come out of place again! I don't need the pain. But in a few days it'll be taken care of. Hopefully after that I can lose, through activity, the few pounds I've put on through inactivity.

I do physical work for activities. When I play it's a shooting sport, but even that is somewhat physical (action pistol). The past few matches while I had my TC I walked through them instead of jogging or running. Then of course there is the practicing onm y own range and running through what I set up; over and over.

My physical work involves cutting, hauling and splitting wood, gardening (big garden), and whatever else needs to be done. Hauling manure, you name it, it's up to me to get it done and I'm the heavy equipment. I do have some motorized help.
