I've had this a while and haven't gotten around to using it much.  I made it a point the past week to use razors in the den I may have been neglecting recently.  It may be time for a den clearance.  Too many razors too few shaves in a day!!  Is it me or is this thing an Agresssive animal?  I will say it was a rough as hell shave with a persona in it, and a Rapira in it, a feather was a more smooth shave but still noticeably Agressive.  Am I missing something or is this razor up on the aggressive spectrum of the R41 and an adjustable wide open?

I hear that it's one of the most aggressive Razors PAA sells.

I think its rather aggressive. I have the Name Taker (same head, different handle). Lately, I only use it if I have 3-4 days or more of growth, which is rare. But yeah, its actually pretty efficient too, I could probably get away with doing one pass. I've heard its the same head as Cadet, Pearl, and RazoRock OCs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, don't want to spread any false info.

I thought about getting either the DOC, or the Nametaker, but I decided to try the Maggards OC with one of their discounted MR-8 Bulldog handles because I wanted something heavier than the DOC. I liked the price of the Maggards too because it was under $25. It should be here in 2-3 day's.

Maggards handles are a wonderful value, I have had every version of head they have made, version 1 and 2 open and closed comb heads. I find all the heads to be very very mild and frankly not very good shavers.... on par with a Gillette tech head. Too mild for my liking, so I often use their handles with other razor heads I like and use often.

I have the Maggard's OC [on a MR1 handle] and think it a remarkable deal. The head itself is on the milder side but fairly efficient as a shaver nonetheless.

Look forward to your thoughts!

I would like to find a Parker OC head to put on the handle. I'm on a tight budget right now, but I almost pulled the trigger on a Razorock Rake from Italian Barber yesterday. With the Parker OC head and the Ikon Bamboo handle it looks like one sweet setup. I'll give the Maggard's OC a try and see how it works for me.

What blade do you use with the OC from Maggard's.

Hey Clayton, I have tried a number: Crystal, Astra, PolSilver. I think my best performer was Feather though.

I also have the Rake per your other post and think it does perform better for my taste than the Maggard plus it ships with the SS Bamboo handle but you can get a decent shave with the Maggard as well. Plus the Maggard head is a brass baseplate if that matters.
